  • Wellbeing Day

Fri 14 Jul 2023 Mr Hopkinson

It may be getting closer to the summer holidays but that hasn’t stopped the fun happening at WIS. This week saw the final Wellbeing Day for our classes, with the children taking part in lacrosse, tri-golf and cheerleading, as well as making their own keepsake fridge magnet. A huge thank you to Next Level Sports for their continued support over the year and delivering the sporting activities during our Wellbeing Days and to Miss Gill who has organised all of the art and craft activities on these days too!

  • A busy week at WIS!

Fri 07 Jul 2023 Mr Hopkinson

Well, well, well… what a busy week at WIS!

Firstly, I would like to say a huge thank you to FOWI once again for our whole school trip to Nottingham’s Theatre Royal last Friday to watch Winnie-the-Pooh. The children had an amazing time and the show was brilliant!

We have had lots of exciting events happening at school this week, starting with some of our year 2 children representing us at the Key Stage 1 Quads Kids Athletics competition on Tuesday. Ella, Ava, Jacob (Kind Koalas), Isaac, Eva, Finn, Chloe and Louie Ca (Perky Pandas) did a fantastic job, taking part in various track and field events. The children worked their socks off and represented the school perfectly – I am very proud of them all!

On Wednesday, the school took part in some sporting workshops with GB heptathlete, Katie Stainton. The children were inspired when listening to Katie talk about her sporting journey during a whole school assembly and they thoroughly enjoyed taking part in different jumping, running and throwing events. As a reward for the fundraising efforts, the children in the Kind Koalas also enjoyed a smoothie making session – they were yummy!

The children in the singing group were very excited about their performance this week. They have worked hard over the last few weeks learning the songs and it was fantastic to see them be so brave and they sounded brilliant singing Try Everything, Count on Me, This is Me, and When I Grow Up – well done children!
