School Improvement

The School Improvement Plan is the document which drives ongoing improvements in school. The Governing Body is responsible for evaluating the progress made against the plan and has an approved mechanism in place for regular effective monitoring.

 

The following priorities have been identified as the main areas for improvement for the 2018-19 academic year:

 

Priority 1: Leadership, Management and Governance

To develop the leadership and impact of teachers across the school

 

How parents/carers can help:

  • Let your child’s class teacher know about the things you really like about the school and any aspects that can be improved

 

Priority 2: Teaching, Learning and Assessment

To develop the impact of interventions

 

How parents/carers can help:

  • Speak with your child’s class teacher about your child’s progress and wellbeing

  • Discuss any areas that your child needs additional support with and how you can support with this at home

 

Priority 3: Personal Development, Behaviour and Welfare

To increase the amount of physical activity that children take part in daily

 

How parents/carers can help:

  • Ensure your child brings their PE kit to school regularly

  • Involve your child with after school clubs

  • Make use of the equipment available on the playground before and after school

 

Priority 4: Pupil Outcomes

To raise the profile of maths within the school

 

How parents/carers can help:

  • Support your child with their maths homework

  • Incorporate maths with different aspects of your daily routine e.g. handling money in shops or counting in 2s when looking at house numbers

 

Priority 5: Early Years Foundation Stage

To develop the outdoor environment

 

How parents/carers can help:

  • Offer some of your time to help with the maintenance of the outside area e.g. weeding

  • Donate any spare waterproof clothing so the children can access the outdoor environment in all types of weather
