Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Thank you to everyone that entered the spring photo competition. We received so many fantastic entries and the staff have thoroughly enjoyed looking through them. The winning photograph belongs to Grace (Dashing Dolphins) who received a weather station as her prize. Every child that entered has received a certificate. The photos can be viewed here.
We supported Red Nose Day today by dressing up as superheroes. As you can imagine, there has definitely been a buzz of excitement in school today with the children enjoying showing off their fantastic costumes.
Thank you to our amazing families for your ongoing support with the events that happen at school. We raised an incredible £366.70 for Red Nose Day!
We have all been lucky enough to have a variety of precious lunar samples in school recently. Each class had time to learn about and handle the samples, and it was great to see so many of our parents and carers after school on the Thursday. I need to make a special mention to Mrs Sellers who has worked tirelessly to organise this fantastic opportunity for the children – thank you, Mrs Sellers!
Science Spring Photo Competition
Mrs Sellers is organising a science spring photo competition. To enter, your child needs to take a photo of something that means spring to you and send it to office@arnoldwoodthorpe.notts.sch.uk. It is one entry per pupil and the deadline is Friday 25th March 2022 and there will be a prize for the winning photograph.
Puppet Workshop
Our year 2 children have recently experienced a puppet making workshop as part of their Design and Technology curriculum. They got to create their own stick puppet as well as being treated to a puppet show of Little Red Riding Hood. I think it is safe to say that everyone had an amazing time!
World Book Day
This year, we celebrated World Book Day a day early (Foundation 2 were on a trip) and it was great to see the effort made with everyone’s costume. The children went into the hall in the morning to parade their costume to the rest of the class and everyone had the opportunity to show their classmates the book they brought in.
F2 Trip
Foundation 2 had their second trip of the year on when they visited Manor Farm. The children (and adults) had fun exploring the dinosaur trail and handling different animals. A big thank you to the Foundation 2 team for organising the trip and letting me come with them, as well as to our lovely parent/carer helpers!
