  • Rocks

Mon 30 Sep 2019 Mr Hopkinson

This week at Science Tots the children were exploring different types of rocks. They experimented with which rocks floated and which sank. The children then had the opportunity to use the dinosaur key to excavate some dinosaur bones and fossils that were buried in quicksand. The highlight was seeing a volcano erupt!

  • Fun with Physics

Mon 23 Sep 2019 Mr Hopkinson

This week at science tots the children were having fun with physics. The children started the session with investigating magnets and air pressure. Later in the session the children used their knowledge to raise water to the top of a container with just using stones (water displacement). They learnt that there was more movement from the water when there were larger stones. Finally, the children had a competition to build an unsupported tower. Lots of reciprocity was used!

  • Parents' Evenings

Tue 17 Sep 2019 Mr Hopkinson
We are trialling a new online booking system for parents' evenings this year. The person listed as the first contact should have received an email inviting them to book a time slot with their child's class teacher. If you have not received an email, please contact the office and we can look into this (and book your appointment in from our end).
  • Insects

Mon 16 Sep 2019 Mr Hopkinson

This week at Science Tots the children investigated different insects and they used tweezers to pick up marshmallows pretending that they were birds and the tweezers were their beaks. The highlight of the session was holding a live insect from Nina’s garden. The children were very brave and this created lots of excitement!

  • Science Tots is Back

Mon 09 Sep 2019 Mr Hopkinson

Key stage 1 Science club started this Monday after school. The children really enjoyed using their five senses to do a variety of activities. They made some rattles out of different materials and experimented to see which material would make the most noise. The highlight was making their own sherbet and then tasting it.

  • Welcome Back

Tue 03 Sep 2019 Mr Hopkinson

Welcome back to all our children and families! It is lovely to see you all again and everyone looks really smart in their new uniforms. I hope the new quad area outside the school hall has been a pleasant surprise for you.

Here is to a wonderful year ahead!
