  • A Budding TV Star!

Thu 19 Dec 2019 Mr Hopkinson
We are all very proud of Jacob (Class 6) and his little sister after seeing the Halfords TV advert they starred in. You can check out the video for yourselves in our video resource centre page here. Well done, Jacob - you are a natural!
  • Head Teachers for the Day

Tue 17 Dec 2019 Mr Hopkinson

Today we had Riley (Class 4), Katie (Class 1) and Henry (Class 6) act as Head Teachers after winning the prize at the Christmas fair. Their jobs included setting up the hall, updating the school website, introducing the Rocksteady concert and most importantly, drinking hot chocolate in the staff room!

They all looked super smart in their ties!

  • Book Buzz

Fri 13 Dec 2019 Miss Tyler

On Monday 9th December we had our first Book Buzz event. The whole school met in the hall for a "Reading Raffle" - each teacher picked a class, who then came back with them to their classroom to share a favourite story. There were lots of children excited about the different teachers and the special stories that were shared.

"I liked hearing how other teachers read stories." Child in class 6

"I liked it because it was different." Child in class 3.

"I liked the story about Mary and Joseph because it's famous." Child in class 1

"I loved Aliens Love Panta Claus because it was funny when Santa slid down the pant elastic." Child in class 6

Children and staff had a great afternoon and loved experiencing different stories with different adults. This will be a half termly event but with a different activity each time. Look out for our next Book Buzz event in February.

  • Christmas Fair

Mon 09 Dec 2019 Mr Hopkinson
Thank you to everyone that attended the Christmas fair on Friday. It looked as though everyone had a brilliant time and it was lovely to see so many of you there. Early indications suggest we have raised over £1,700 for the school. What an achievement!
  • Carols at Woodthorpe Manor Nursing Home

Fri 06 Dec 2019 Mr Hopkinson
Today, our year 2 children walked to Woodthorpe Manor Nursing home to sing Christmas carols to the residents and staff. Everyone had a wonderful time and the children definitely put a smile on the residents' faces! We even had the chance to sing Happy Birthday to Kathleen for her 104th birthday!
