Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
This week at Science Tots the children were having fun with physics. The children started the session with investigating magnetics and air pressure. Later in the session the children used their knowledge to raise water to the top of a container with just using stones (water displacement). They learnt that there was more movement from the water with the larger the stone. Finally, the children had a competition to build an unsupported tower. Lots of reciprocity was used!
This week at Science Tots the children were investigating science jobs they can do when they grow up. They explored being a dentist, botanist, archaeologist, doctor, engineer and an astronomer. They became Environmental Scientist saying how they could make the environment better.
It was fantastic to see our new Digital Leaders meet with Mrs Burton for their first session of the year. I am very excited to see what amazing things they get up to this year!
The children in Science Tots this week really enjoyed using their five senses to do a variety of activities. They made some rattles out of different materials and experimented to see which material would make the most noise. They also experimented with different coloured water to make the colours orange and purple. The highlight of the session was making their own sherbet and then tasting it. We had lots of funny faces!
Following the recent passing of Queen Elizabeth II, school will not be open on Monday 19th September due to this now being a bank holiday.
Science Tots started again this Tuesday after school. The children investigated different insects and they used tweezers to pick up pom poms pretending that they were birds and the tweezers were their beaks. The highlight of the session was holding a live insect from Nina’s garden. The children were very brave and this created lots of excitement!
Welcome back everyone!
It has been great to see everyone back in school again after the summer holidays. All the children have settled so well into their new classes, and I have been particularly impressed by our new starters. Well done everyone!
