Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
This afternoon Nic Wort from Greenwood came in to work with children to plant shrubs in our Forest School area. A very enthusiastic group managed to plant over 50 shrubs to create a hedge in this ongoing project. Well done to those children involved and thank you to Mrs Harvey for organising this!
I was lucky enough to join Year 1 on their visit to the Phiz Lab at Springbank Primary School today. We had a great time taking part in two science investigations; one investigating different light sources and the other being a sinking and floating experiment. The children showed strong teamwork when carrying out the investigations, had a brilliant time and represented the school very well!
Year 2 will be having their turn on the 10th March and I know they are very excited!
On Monday 20th January we will be launching our Super Stories. These are stories that have been chosen by members of our school community as 'must read before you leave infant school'! Each year group will be given a set of 18 books, and over the course of the year, teachers will ensure that these are shared during storytimes. They will also be available in class for the children to read independently. Children need to look out for the labels on the front covers of each book that will tell them that a book is one of our "super stories" and also for the messages inside that will tell them who recommended it. Thank you to all the staff, parents and children who nominated their favourite stories to be included, it was very difficult to decide between the many fantastic stories that were recommended! Hopefully you will see some of your favourites on the pictures below.
