Welcome

From the Head Teacher

Welcome to Woodthorpe Infant School; a place that wants everyone to 'be kind, be brave and be happy'. Our vision has been created to include our entire school community, including children, staff and parents/carers.

Be kind refers to the obvious meaning of being caring and sympathetic to one another, but also refers to the way we communicate and support each other.

Be brave reflects our ‘curriculum driver’ to promote resilience and appropriate risk-taking – not being afraid to make mistakes in our teaching, learning and parenting.

Be happy represents our desire to teach, learn and experience things that make us happy, thus increasing our motivation and engagement. I firmly believe that happy staff make happy children, and happy children make happy parents! I hope you can see how each of these statements reflect everyone in Woodthorpe Infant School’s community.

Every day we work hard to ensure the children receive a broad, exciting and stimulating curriculum, are happy and engaged, and partake in a range of experiences beyond the classroom. All of which is made possible by our hardworking and dedicated team of staff who go above and beyond to make our children's time here the best it can be.

You are always welcome to visit the school. I am very proud of the positive attitudes, learning behaviours and quality of work that our children produce, therefore I believe the best time to visit is during the school day when all the children are learning.

I hope you enjoy exploring the rest of the website. If you would like to know any further information about what Woodthorpe Infant School can offer you and your child, please contact the school office using the details here.
