School Improvement

The School Improvement Plan is the document which drives ongoing improvements in school. The Governing Body is responsible for evaluating the progress made against the plan and has an approved process in place for regular effective monitoring.

The following priorities have been identified as the main areas for improvement for the 2019-20 academic year and are referred to as our 'school drivers'.

Priority 1: To reduce the gender gap

How parents/carers can help:

  • Positively promote maths, reading and writing at home

  • Challenge the notion that it is acceptable to not be good at maths

Priority 2: To establish a consistent and systematic approach for the teaching of phonics

How parents/carers can help:

  • Read regularly with your child

Priority 3: To instigate the process for supporting children with additional needs early on

How parents/carers can help:

  • Notify your child's class teacher about any concerns you may have about your child as soon as you notice them
