Meet our Science Ambassadors 2025-26

October 2025

Our Science Ambassadors met recently to explore their roles and responsibilities, and to find exciting ways to inspire others to get involved in hands-on science activities. We talked about ideas such as hunting for mini beasts, identifying different trees by their leaves, and observing how the seasons change and what signs we can notice throughout the year. We also learned how to use magnifying glasses, microscopes, and binoculars to help us look more closely at the amazing details in nature that we might otherwise miss.

The ambassadors said we also need to remind everyone how important it is to look after our environment by keeping bird feeders full and always leaving habitats just as we found them after our investigations. We thought about how we can develop our science area by planting more flowers and plants — and maybe even growing some vegetables in the future when the conditions are right! We also discussed setting up and monitoring weather stations, such as rain gauges, thermometers, and wind vanes, as well as organising litter-picking and recycling initiatives to help promote sustainability across our school.
