Eco Ambassadors

Meet our Eco Ambassadors 2025-26

October 2025

Our Eco ambassadors met and discussed our school Eco poster and the things we need to do around school.

They said that it was their job to:

  • make sure lights are turned off when leaving a room or to remind the teachers to turn them off
  • reuse paper and put waste in the correct bins in our classrooms
  • put empty pens into the recycling buckets provided in each classroom

When the children were asked..."What do we mean by Eco?" they responded with…

  • “Looking after our planet.”
  • “Recycling.”
  • “Making things grow.”
  • “Getting rid of litter.”

The children have set up a rota so that they know when to:

  • take out the compost bucket and place this under the yellow waste bin at the top of the playground
  • take out the litter pickers to pick up rubbish in the playground
  • throw waste in the compost bucket

Our F2 Eco ambassadors said that it was their job to:

  • turn off lights in the classroom
  • put the fruit waste in our wormery
  • put any used pens into the green caddy
  • use the blue recycling bin for waste paper

January 2026

The Eco Ambassadors met to discuss what they had been doing to contribute to our school's  Eco Code. The ambassadors from class 4 have been out every Tuesday litter picking on our playground.  The children in F2 have been making sure classroom lights are turned off and putting all their compost in the wormery.

The ambassadors were given a task to make a poster to display on the school fence to encourage parents and carers to turn off their car engines whilst they are waiting to collect their children.  We spoke about the effects on the planet from leaving car engines on such as pollution, people's health and global warming.
